Highs and Lows over the past 10 years:

The past decade has been primarily devoted to my children; supporting their dreams. Both were actively involved in sports, so my husband and I were their greatest fans. While they were in high school I was blessed to work at their school as the Sports Nutritionist for various athletic teams, including their soccer, cross country and track teams. This was a dream come true, because when they were little my health issues kept me from attending their soccer games. Now, I was, in a sense, on the inside, able to see their process of growing and learning as athletes. Then came time for college. Both have been able to attend their dream schools, thanks to God blessing the girls with scholarship money. In May, both will have graduated college – one married now and pursuing grad school and a career as a Child Life Specialist and the other on to graduate school pursuing psychology/linguistics to become a professor. Over the past 1.5 years, my health has taken a severe turn for the worse. If the timing had been different, I wouldn’t have been able to actively participate in my girls high school and college years, or my first daughter’s wedding! My greatest blessing of all, next to my relationship with God, is my relationship with my husband Mark. He truly loves me, and I love him – in sickness and in health!

Some of the lowest lows in my life have led to some of my greatest insights and closest times with the Lord. Because of my health issues, I’m home a lot. These health challenges have kept me from working and serving, so I decided to blog. Writing helps my pain lessen somehow, and I hope someone will be drawn closer to Jesus as I pray for him to direct my thoughts and my words. I have met wonderful supportive people in the WP world who’s words, stories, and poems inspire me to keep looking toward heaven. I’m so glad to be getting to know some of you, my blogging friends, from all over the world!

If they wish to participate, I am tagging:

  1. For Christmas I gave a friend of mine the daily devotional, Live in Grace, Walk in Love, by Bob Goff. There was only one copy in the store at the time, but when I checked back later, I picked up a copy for myself! I am enjoying it. He has a unique way of looking at the world through the eyes of Jesus. God bless you, Darci, and thank you for participating.

    1. I really like his work too! Great imagery and simple language. My brother met him at his church and generously got me an autographed copy of Love Does. That’s fun to have. Thanks for the tag! Enjoy your weekend!
