Broken. We’ve all been there. Whether we are picking up the pieces of a broken marriage, healing from a broken leg, rebuilding life after a job loss, persevering through a disability, or grieving the loss of a loved one, we all experience brokenness. We ‘break’ many times throughout our lives for varying reasons, but we also heal. Maybe not completely, and maybe not in a way we hoped or expected, but just as sure as we break, we also heal, through faith in Christ.
Radiant. All of us are radiant. You may not feel radiant, especially if you feel broken, but you are. You were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), and He is gloriously radiant! We are Radiantly Broken, being made perfect through weakness, trials, and suffering.
Weakness. Strength in paradoxical form. When we are weak, He is strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Whateverbrokenness you are currently encountering, you can shine. Light radiates through the cracks – God’s presence fills the empty spaces. You may not feel his presence, but he is near. He is forming your weakness into something stronger, more durable, and everlasting. Let his light gleam through your cracks. Don’t hold back. Go into the world with courage. Believe that God is using your hurts for a greater eternal purpose. He is building a different puzzle for you with the pieces that you feel have been taken away. Use your loss to find something better – something eternal. Without brokenness, Jesus would not be Jesus, and he is “the radiance of God’s glory” (Hebrews 1:3).
